Maritess M. Quinto is a wife, a mother of five, a healthcare advocate, an entrepreneur, and holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Dr. Quinto currently serves as the Director of Clinical Professional Development at HCA Healthcare’s Center for Clinical Advancement, overseeing the HCA Florida Healthcare hospitals in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Dr. Quinto is a Healthcare Advocate and a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience. She is deeply passionate about healthcare policy change and nursing advocacy. As a Nursing Leader and a Nursing Professional Development Specialist, Dr. Quinto focuses on enhancing patient care and improving quality care outcomes. She advocates for service excellence and assists her healthcare colleagues in achieving their personal and professional development goals by helping them cultivate their professional identities.

Dr. Quinto began her nursing career as a Medical-Surgical Nurse and has since held various positions, including a charge nurse, a clinical educator, a nursing faculty member, a clinical instructor, and a nursing director. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baguio Central University in the Philippines, followed by a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on Healthcare System Leadership, both from Chamberlain University in Illinois, USA.

Dr. Quinto is an active volunteer in the healthcare community and a member of several national and international organizations. Currently, she serves as the Director of the Florida Nurses Association Southeast Region and the President of the Association of Nursing Professional Development for HCA Healthcare. She is also the Florida HUG Leader for the HealthStream Learning Management System, an inaugural Board Member of the Global Nursing Accreditation and Certification Council, and a member of the Planning Committee for the Nursing Consortium of Florida. Since 2022, Dr. Quinto has been a regular co-host of MedSurg Moments, the official podcast of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses.

Among her many recognitions, Dr. Quinto recently received the 2024 President’s Award from the Florida Nurses Association. In March 2025, she was accepted into the inaugural Fellowship In Nursing Economics (FINE) by the Commission of Nursing Reimbursement.

Dr. Quinto believes that being a healthcare provider, especially a nurse, is a mission to serve both oneself and others.
